1980’s are back! Unfortunately I’m not talking of leg warmers, padded shoulders, hairspray and Duran Duran: what’s gone back to the early 1980’s level is the Italian families’ good’s consumption. That’s what told us last week a Banca Intesa Sanpaolo’s report but everybody already knew it: because of the economic crisis there has been a cut in household expenditure (food included). A look to the labour market’s tension doesn’t help in believing into a brighter future. Mr Monti and the welfare minister Elsa Fornero want to put an end this week to the discussion about new contracts and social security (after all, why lose so much time for a question that will affect millions of people’s lives for decades? Markets can’t wait!), but nothing is clear. Another travel back to future, but this time a stop in the 1980’s seems to be a mirage, probably, talking about workers’ rights, the final destination will be the 1950’s.

Sono tornati gli anni ’80!. Purtroppo non sto parlando di scaldamuscoli, spalline, lacca e Duran Duran: a tornare agli anni ‘80 sono stati i consumi delle famiglie italiane. Lo afferma un rapporto di Banca Intesa Sanpaolo reso noto la scorsa settimana che certifica quello che tutti già sapevano: causa crisi economica, si consuma di meno (persino nel settore alimentare). Non aiutano a credere in un futuro più roseo le tensioni sul mercato del lavoro. La questione di nuove formule contrattuali e nuovi ammortizzatori, che Monti e la ministro Fornero vogliono chiudere in settimana (perché perdere tanto tempo su una questione che in fondo riguarda solo la vita di qualche milione di italiani per i prossimi decenni? I mercati non possono attendere!), sembra ancora in alto mare. Anche qui si prospetta un viaggio a ritroso nel futuro, ma una fermata negli anni ’80 sembra un miraggio, probabilmente in materia di tutele e diritti per i lavoratori la meta finale saranno gli anni ‘50.
