I must confess that recently reading the news I feel anguish and rage, depression, disgust… But, when it’s late in the evening and I finally decide it’s time to read them something between the latest updates on the unstoppable institutional reforms catch my eye. It’s an interview with Mr Gianni Cuperlo (?!!?), an eminent member of the Democratic Party, its former president who resigned a year ago in disagreement with the party’s secretary @matteorenzi. Well, after years spent (by the twitter fanatic) in junking the Democratic Party’s old leaders and when the youngest Prime Minister ever is about to celebrate the first year of his government, Mr Cuperlo still asks himself what @matteorenzi wants to do to the party and suddenly realizes that PD,  once the largest Left party in Italy, risks to become some sort of centrist, but right-oriented, party…

Now, try and understand me, I’m not saying that such a thing (I mean, the fact that someone still believes that in the Democratic Party there’s something that got to do with the left…) could give me back my faith in human beings, but wasn’t that sweet?

Devo confessare che ultimamente il sentimento che mi assale più di frequente al solo pensiero della lettura delle notizie è l’angoscia, poi ci sono la rabbia, la depressione, il disgusto… Poi quando finalmente, verso sera, mi dedico alla lettura, arrivo alle pagine politiche e tra gli aggiornamenti sulle irrinunciabili, mirabolanti, inarrestabili riforme e il toto-Quirinale mi imbatto in un’intervista di Cuperlo (ve lo ricordate Cuperlo?) che finalmente dopo anni di scalate e rottamazioni e dopo quasi un anno di governo del più giovane Presidente del Consiglio della storia dell’Italia unita sta ancora lì a chiedersi in che direzione @matteorenzi pensi di portare il PD e improvvisamente realizza che forse il suo partito, quello che un tempo fu il più grande partito della sinistra italiana, rischia di diventare una cosa di centro con lo sguardo rivolto a destra…

Oddio, non è che questo (l’idea cioè che qualcuno pensi che da qualche parte nel PD ci sia ancora qualche cosa di sinistra da salvare) possa restituirmi la fiducia nel genere umano, però che ne dite, non era carino?!?
