Today finally we discovered how Mr Renzi, our young Prime Minister, will find the money needed to realize his “new Italian miracle”…oops, sorry, his “good turning” (for a moment I confused him with the other one, you know, the old guy with make up unjustly persecuted by communist judges…). Mr Carlo Cottarelli, Mr spending review, worked on it and… surprise, surprise, surprise! It’s almost certain that the money won’t come from the sale on eBay of 150 “blue-cars” (no, it’s not a naughty double entendre, we call blue cars, auto blu, the cars own by the State that are at politics or high rank civil servants disposal ..and yes, Mr Renzi announced this in a press conference last week).

The new resources will probably come from cuts to the military expense, salaries of high rank civil servants but above all from (not yet confirmed but possible) serious cuts to: public administration (-85000 workers within 2016); police forces; railways and public transport (commuters will be exceedingly happy! Public transport is so comfortable, so convenient…) and obviously  Health Care System (-3billions, but Minister Beatrice Lorenzin seems almost grateful for this) and pensions (they probably won’t follow the inflation and there will be cuts to benefits for  people suffering a disability). And what’s more there will be room for a poetic touch too, thanks to the “starry cities” plan… no, noting romantic, only less light from the street lamps (this will surely lead to the birth of “reflector fashion”. Anyway, you’d better take a torch with you at night).

If all that is true whe could say that now we know why the German Chancellor was so impressed yesterday when she met Mr Renzi: he’s so audacious especially if he think we could believe this plan got something to do with the left.

Oggi finalmente si è scoperto dove Matteo Renzi troverà i miliardi necessari per il suo “nuovo miracolo italiano”…oops, scusate, per la “svolta buona” (per un momento l’avevo confuso con quell’altro, quello col fondotinta perseguitato dalle toghe rosse). Carlo Cottarelli, Mr spending review (che magari, così tanto per dire, si potrebbe pure chiamare revisione della spesa), ci ha lavorato un po’ su e…sorpresa sorpresa, sorpresa! Pare ormai certo che il grosso delle risorse non arriveranno dalle 150 auto blu messe all’asta su eBay.

Si parla di probabili tagli alla difesa (compresa la riduzione della spesa per l’acquisto dei famigerati F35 sulla quale mi permetto di essere scettica), riduzione degli stipendi dei dirigenti statali, ma soprattutto di possibili drastici tagli a:  pubblico impiego (-85000 unità entro il 2016); forze di polizia; trasporto su rotaia e trasporto pubblico locale (saranno felici di saperlo i pendolari che già ora usufruiscono di un servizio inappuntabile e convenientissimo…) e ovviamente Sanità (-3 miliardi, ma la ministra Lorenzin sembra addirittura grata della straordinaria opportunità offerta) e pensioni (dovrebbero essere meno legate all’inflazione mentre rischiano una bella sforbiciata quelle di reversibilità e gli assegni di accompagnamento per gli invalidi). E non dovrebbe mancare nemmeno il tocco poetico con l’operazione “città stellate”… che poi vuol dire che la sera l’illuminazione in città sarà ancora un po’ più fioca (si prevede un boom della “moda catarifrangente” e si consiglia l’uso della torcia).

Ecco, questo potrebbe spiegare cosa ha tanto impressionato la Cancelliera e (se fosse vero) confermare l’audacia del giovane Renzi… cercare di farci pure credere che sta roba sia di sinistra.
