What happened to poor Goldie?
Don’t worry, I haven’t abandoned it in a dark corner of my closet, unfinished and alone. Goldie has been completed a few weeks ago and has already made her “début”, only there are many other things (unfortunately none of them very positive) requiring my attention and trying to take some decent picture of this delightful (yes, it is!) little black dress, almost drove me crazy. I must confess, I was so discouraged that I almost decide not to publish them, because you really can’t see much apart from the general shape of it. Sorry. Anyway I’m preparing a new page for it, to tell you more about how easy it could be for you too to make such a dress, and I hope (if soon someone will help me) I could also publish some picture of me wearing it.
Anyway here are some pictures showing how I finished the hem ( I remade a section in blue to let you see it better) and a couple of dark spots (that in fact are poor Goldie, but I couldn’t remade the all dress in blue, sorry).

Che fine ha fatto Goldie?
Niente paura, non l’ho abbandonata in un angolo del mio armadio tutta sola e incompleta. Goldie è stata finita alcune settimana fa ed ha già fatto (con successo) il suo “debutto”, solo che ci sono mille altre cose (purtroppo nessuna positiva) che al momento richiedono la mia attenzione e cercare di fare qualche foto decente di questo delizioso (si è delizioso, lo dico da sola) abitino nero, mi ha fatto quasi impazzire. Lo confesso, ero così scoraggiata da essere sul punto di decidere di non pubblicarle affatto, perché si vede ben poco, a parte la forma dell’abito steso. Me ne dolgo. In ogni caso, sto preparando una nuova pagina per Goldie nella quale spiegarvi come potrebbe essere facile anche per voi realizzare un abitino del genere, e spero (se qualcuno mi aiuterà) di poter presto pubblicare anche delle foto in cui lo indosso .
Comunque qui potete vedere alcune foto che mostrano come ho rifinito l’orlo (ne ho replicato una sezione in azzurro per farvela vedere meglio) e un paio di macchie scure (che in effetti sono Goldie, ma non potevo rifare tutto il vestito in azzurro, dovrete accontentarvi).

I thought this would be about the Dark Shadows movie! I never saw that or the original TV show, but when I was at school I used to read the entertaining series of novels by Marilyn Ross that span off it. They were US TV style Gothic romances set in lovely New England, featuring the vampire Barnabas Collins and his werewolf cousin Quentin. I hope the movie’s as much fun.
Sorry you’ve been distracted by negative things recently and hope more pleasant distractions come along for you soon. This dress is indeed delightful and a picture of you wearing it would be a very pleasant distraction for me! However, I couldn’t possibly make such a dress myself, much less wear one; I wouldn’t have the courage!

Lo metterei nella to do list di quando andrò in pensione, però finché c’è vita c’è speranza…
Sono contenta che ti piaccia. In realtà non c’è bisogno di aspettare la pensione… è un abito piuttosto semplice e quasi interamente lavorato a maglia rasata.
