Hot days

Today the European Union leaders are in Brussels to discuss which new measures to adopt to face the economic crisis and to prevent the end of the Euro. It is difficult to believe that this summit will achieve something because Germany seems to have an only answer to each recipe that’s different from budgetary rigor: NEIN!!! SuperMario goes there with a proposal about a sort of anti-spread shield to help that “virtuous” Country that made their homework and a human sacrifice:  the Italian labour market’s reform is now a law after yesterday the Chambers of Deputies voted its approval so, among other things, now workers’ dismissals will be easier and their reinstatements will be more difficult. This human sacrifice seems to be not enough for the Ministry of welfare Mrs Fornero that yesterday declared to the Wall Street Journal that “work is not a right”, completely forgetting the first article of the Italian Constitution “Italy is a democratic Republic founded on labour…” and also the fourth “The Republic recognizes the right of all citizens to work and promotes those conditions which render this right effective…”. Of course then she said that there was a misunderstanding (always something lost in translation…). And what about Confindustria (the Italian employer’s federation) that today said that the economic crisis effects are similar to those produced by a war?

If any of these news have scared you enough here is the new chapter of the meteorological-terroristic saga: a new heat wave is coming and will be worst then the first one (remember Scipione?). Even its name has been conceived to scare you to death: Caronte (Charon), like the mythical ferryman of Hades that carries the souls of deaths (my congratulation to the one who chose the name!). So this evening, especially if you are in Italy, don’t get too excited during the semi-final match for Euro2012 (football/soccer European championship) Italy vs. Germany: even though many people are saying that this match is also a sort of political revenge against the German rigor that’s strangling Europe it’s just football and remember, after all, statistics are on our side…

Oggi a Bruxelles i leader dell’Unione Europa si incontrano per cercare nuovi modi per contenere la crisi ed evitare la fine della moneta unica. Difficile credere che questo vertice possa portare realmente a qualche risultato, visto che la Germania risponde con un secco “NEIN!!” ad ogni proposta diversa dal rigore di bilancio. SuperMario si presenta proponendo di creare una sorta di scudo anti-spread per salvaguardare le economie di quei paesi che virtuosamente hanno fatto i “compiti a casa” e con l’omaggio di un sacrificio umano caldo caldo: la riforma del mercato del lavoro (“ce la chiede l’Europa!”, ricordate?) è diventata legge ieri dopo l’approvazione definitiva della Camera e così, tra le altre cose, i licenziamenti diventeranno più facili ed i reintegri più difficili da ottenere. Questo genere di sacrificio umano non sembra però abbastanza per il ministro del lavoro Fornero che ieri ha dichiarato al Wall Street Journal che “il lavoro non è un diritto”, dimenticandosi completamente del primo articolo della Costituzione “L’Italia è una Repubblica democratica, fondata sul lavoro… ” ma anche del quarto “La Repubblica riconosce a tutti i cittadini il diritto al lavoro e promuove le condizioni che rendano effettivo questo diritto…” riuscendo persino a farsi riprendere su questo tema dalla Lega Nord (dalla Lega Nord!!!). Ovviamente poi la Ministro ha fatto sapere di esser stata fraintesa (ma guarda un po’!!). E che dire di Confindustria che afferma che gli effetti della crisi sulla nostra economia sono simili a quelli prodotti da una guerra?

Se tutte queste notizie non vi hanno ancora depresso o spaventato abbastanza ecco per voi un nuovo capitolo della saga meteo-terroristica: è in arrivo una nuova ondata di calore e quella appena passata (ma è passata davvero?) sarà nulla al suo confronto. Persino il nome sembra pensato apposta per far paura: Caronte come il mitico traghettatore delle anime dei morti (complimenti a chi l’ha scelto!). Perciò questa sera cercate di non agitarvi troppo per la partita di semifinale di Euro2012 tra Italia e Germania: anche se qualcuno la carica di significati extra sportivi (come se potesse essere una rivincita contro la Germania del rigore economico che strangola L’Europa) è solo una partita di calcio, e poi in fondo le statistiche sono dalla nostra parte…
