Just a quick update on yesterday’s post.

The Brindisi’s bomb attack: it’s not yet clear who made it and why but investigators apparently believe it is not connected to mafia. This afternoon news: a man, wanted for the attack, has been found by the police that is now questioning him (they call it a “routine check”).

The Earthquake: aftershocks are continuing in the area near the town of Ferrara, also yesterday afternoon aftershock has been felt in the Lombardy’s area where I live (more than 200 km far from the epicentre, no problems here). Lots of historical buildings and churches have been badly damaged or completely destroyed, as long as many factories and farms which means that the economy in the area is in danger. About 5000 people are now homeless (many slept in their cars last night), Civil Protection and volunteers are setting camps and organizing the rescue operations. Unfortunately bad weather (it rains since Sunday afternoon) is causing even more troubles.

Heartfelt thanks to those who, commenting yesterday’s post, showed their solidarity to all the people affected.

  1. I hope they find the person who did that horrible crime soon. And I hope all citizens will open their hearts and doors to those in need. It can be surprising how much generosity emerges in devastating natural disasters. It happened during the big floods here in Australia last year, hope you have the same experience!

Thank you again. Unfortunaltely the case of the attack in Brindisi is far from being solved, the man caught yesterday has already been released, no evidence against him. Here we are stiil waiting to solve and judge Far Right terrorism’s bomings massacres happened in 1970’s and 80’s, it’s a bit discouraging

My heart goes out to you all. I have a family in Bologna and am still chocked by this. Big hugs from Sweden.
