“Could be raining”

In many Italian cities from north to south, on Sunday and Monday, citizens have voted on local election. As everyone could imagine economic crisis influenced these local election. The turnout lowers (-7%), the Five Stars Movement (the new populist “f**k the politics” party) emerges, the left party (PD- Democratic Party) had a fair result, but what most the Right parties, all of them, suffered a real defeat. Many comments have been done so far… There’s someone  talking about “liquefying Parties” comparing Italy to Greece where in last weekend general election, because of the crisis, many anti-European parties did well (a filo-Nazi party had 20 its representatives elected) and, till now, no party seems to be capable to run the Country. There’s some other who prefers talking about the beautiful Hollande’s victory in France Presidential Election that let many people hope for a Europe that could not succumb to Germany’s austerity policies. There are those, among the Right politics, that say that this defeat has been caused by their support to the Monti’s Government, forgetting that the Democratic Party though also supporting Monti did not collapse while Northern League (Lega Nord), the racist party once allied to Mr B’s PDL party and now an opposition party, scored very poorly in the whole Northern Italy (except in Verona). Probably they don’t want to admit that their defeat has been caused by years of wrong politics and denial of the crisis. Then finally there’s our ineffable Mr B that from Russia (where he went to attend the Ceremony of re-inauguration of his dear friend Putin as Russia’s President) said, trying as usual to make things better, that his Party’s defeat was already expected but that it could have been even worse… How? Could rain?

Come? Poteva piovere?
