Here are some of the expressions recently used by Italian Government’s members to talk about work laws and workers (especially the youngers): losers (those who graduate late); monotonous steady jobs; old governments too generous spreading social niceness; “we’ll consult Trade Unions but we’ll make reforms with or without them”; a steady job is an illusion; workers just want a steady job near their mother… Thinking about economic crisis, rise of unemployment and precarious work (not only for the Youngers) it’s easy to understand why many people have been irritated. (On the internet someone take aim on minister’s children apparently having a steady job near their mother). Frankly, the things that are driving me mad are the language used against workers and unemployed people, sometimes more worthy of a group of bullies then members of Government, and the bitter feeling that after putting on the lower classes shoulders the economic burden of this crisis, someone wants to put on them the moral burden too.
