…well, if you believe in all these things, probably you also believe that the question of the investments FIAT group (once an Italian and now an international automotive industry) should make in its Italian plants will be solved soon! (if you don’t understand what I’m talking about, please read “Confetti” the post I wrote the last week HERE ) On Saturday, as already scheduled, SuperMario (our Prime Minister) and Sergio Marchionne (FIAT CEO and Chrysler President and CEO) met to discuss the matter. After more than five hours, the discussion produced an official statement saying that FIAT has no intention to leave Italy and will invest in new models, because the Italian automotive group “enhancing research and innovation, that are peculiar to the Italian plants, wants to reorient its business in a way that could lead to an increase of the export, particularly outside Europe,” (?!?!!)… but everything will be done at the right moment. To be true, nothing has changed after Saturday’s meeting: it’s still a mystery what’s going to happen in the near future, in particular to those more than twenty thousand people working in Fiat’s Italian plants, and it’s still unclear what the government could do (unless it decide to use those subsidies that should be cancelled when the labour market’s reform this govern made to modernize our Country and fight the economic crisis will be fully applied starting from next year). But don’t worry, everything will be all right one day, maybe when the stars will be aligned the right way…

…bene, se anche voi credete in tutte queste cose forse credete anche che la questione degli investimenti di FIAT nei suoi stabilimenti Italiani (di cui ho parlato la scorsa settimana QUI) sia prossima ad una soluzione! Come programmato, sabato le delegazioni di governo e azienda guidate da SuperMario e dall’AD FIAT Sergio Marchionne si sono incontrate per cercare una soluzione. L’incontro è durato oltre cinque ore ed ha prodotto un comunicato nel quale FIAT ribadisce l’intenzione di non abbandonare l’Italia e di investire in nuovi modelli, perchè “intende riorientare il modello di business in una logica che privilegi le esportazioni, in particolare extra-europee, valorizzando ricerca e innovazione, peculiarità delle strutture italiane”(?!?!)… solo che lo farà al momento opportuno. A dire il vero l’incontro di sabato non ha cambiato la situazione: cosa succederà nei prossimi mesi, in particolare agli oltre ventimila lavoratori degli stabilimenti italiani, rimane un mistero e non ci sono certezze nemmeno riguardo a quello che farà il governo (cassa integrazione straordinaria a parte, che comunque non dovrebbe più esistere dopo l’entrata in vigore della riforma del lavoro all’inizio del prossimo anno). Ma non bisogna disperare, un giorno tutto andrà per il meglio, magari quando le stelle si allineeranno nel modo giusto…
